The two-story Sam’s Club/Walmart that’s under construction at Timbercreek Crossing is expected to open in 2011. And when it does, Walmart will close the Sam’s Club on Park Lane near Greenville, a Walmart spokeswoman confirmed.
That stretch of Park Lane is the worst crime area in Dallas. Walmart owns the property, and whether they sell it or lease it, the hope is that a redevelopment would benefit the area. With the Timbercreek Crossing development, that area could improve, says real estate developer Jim Christon.
"I think all that area will get better," he says.
