You can wear your red, white and black proudly around Richardson Square Mall (what’s left of it) these days. After the Lake Highlands football team came back to beat Berkner, 20-10, on Friday, the LH volleyball team completed the sweep of the Rams with a 25-7, 25-14, 25-16 domination at the "Spectram" (Berkner’s gym) on Tuesday night.
Leaders for the volleyball team included Matalee Reed with 13 kills, Caroline Henton with one stuff block and Rachel Peters with 25 assists. Rachael Zreet led two categories with seven aces and 15 digs.
LH will try to claim another sweep on Friday – and fans can do a volleyball-football double-dip. The volleyball team plays at Richardson High (JV 5:30 p.m, varsity 6:30 p.m.) then the football team takes on the Eagles next door at Eagle-Mustang Stadium starting at 7:30 p.m.
