LH has a new place to simultaneously watch the Cowboys and drown your sorrows in potent potables, convenient since Cowboys and sorrows seem to go hand-in-hand these days.

The grand opening of the Stone Elephant Bar and Grill is set for Friday, November 6, but the new neighborhood joint is open for business now from 11 a.m.-2 a.m. (365 days a year). In fact, Thursday is ladies’ night, featuring $3 Cosmos, according to their Facebook fan page.

The place looks like a good fit for sports watching, karaoke, pool, video games and live music, located in the heart of Lake Highlands. Sounds as if they are fairly food focused too — they will open on Sundays soon for brunch, according to their under-construction web site.

Earlier today I left a message with one of the owners (former Lee Harvey’s general manager Timm Zbylut who owns the place along with Charlie Palmer owner Michael Kobelt). He was “with a table” when I called for him at the restaurant — a good sign, I believe. I will let you know if there’s any new news once we connect.
