Mesquite Horn defensive back Jacorey Royal, who had the helmet-to-helmet hit with LH receiver Anthony Harris, was taken by ambulance in the second quarter. However, Royal did not go easy.
Royal wrestled with what appeared to be a Horn coach and the ambulance personnel as they tried to help him into the vehicle. One can only assume Royal is suffering from some sort of head injury and is not aware of his surroundings. Let’s hope for the best with him, but this goes to show just how dangerous leading with the helmet is for tacklers. It’s not worth risking your health just to make a highlight reel.
