The Lake Highlands volleyball team’s loss Tuesday to Hebron looked a lot like the season-opening loss to Highland Park a week ago. LH built leads in the first two games only to falter in both, although the Wildcats fought back to win the third game in a 25-22, 25-22, 25-27, 25-21 loss.

LH led 22-17 in the first game and 20-14 in the second. In the third game, Hebron was serving for the match at 25-24, but LH rallied. Rachael Zreet got a huge kill to make it 26-25, then Hollyn Adams caught Hebron off guard with a dump for the winning point.

Hebron (5-2) had a lot of height and strength in the middle to counter Matalee Reed, LH’s top middle. LH (3-4) countered with stinging kills from the outside by Zreet and Caroline Henton, among others.

"We had a lot of hustle, we just had a lot of errors," Zreet said. "We were keeping up with them, we just couldn’t finish."

LH opens the Allen Texas Open on Friday.
