The Lake Highlands Exchange Club held its annual fall kickoff last night at Back Country Bar-B-Q. President Rhonda Russell got members revved up for a year of giving and service to the LH community and welcomed Lake Highlands High School football coaches as special guests.

Scott Smith introduced his merry band of assistants, who gave attendees the inside scoop on their plans and strategies for the upcoming football season. As Smith begins his fourth year at LHHS, coaches say the learning curve is complete and the Cats are ready to show the crowd what they’ve been working so hard to accomplish.

Member Mark Kinney next introduced the Bell Boys and presented them with personalized megaphones to cheer the Cats to victory. Kinney was a Bell Boy himself, back in the day, as were two of his three brothers. “The Bell Boys are special to me,” Kinney said, “and special to the community.” The Exchange Club also updated the bell, rung after every Wildcat touchdown, with the names of the guys: Brent Bono, William Pittman, Ben Toler, and Tyler Terrell.
