Rumor has it that moviemakers have rented out the old Wal-mart space at Audelia and Walnut Hill for a month. Many of you have noticed the CREW signs, cars and even cameras outside the spot at 9661 Audelia Road. I went over there to check it out, but no one was outside. Go figue, it was 100 degrees at 5 p.m. So I asked the owners of Tee Hee Greetings & Gifts if they knew what was up, and they did — at least they know more than anyone else I’ve asked so far — because they are a couple of in-the-loop kind-a guys. Co-owner Tony Doles tells me, stressing that this is hearsay, that the makers of a movie called "Spilt Milk" (or "Spilled Milk", perhaps), have leased the space for a month.
I found online a movie by each name, but neither fits the description Doles and co-owner David Ferris got from a stage manager about this in-the-works film — it is reportedly an action comedy about a hostage situation, with no big star power, but possibly some recognizable faces from television. Doles says he’s seen hundreds of people at the set since it all started.
I will give the property managers a call tomorrow during business hours and see if I can garner a few more details. But thanks to our friends at Tee Hee Greetings for getting the scoop.
