If you followed my previous posts, you know my family hosted two British young men in our home for three weeks during the international soccer tournament, Dallas Cup. Each year, players and referees from around the world arrive in Dallas for the event, with Lake Highlands still playing a central role, leftover from the years when Dallas Cup was played at The Boneyard (a move from real grass to synthetic turf drove away the grass-loving soccer purists).

This weekend, Brit Jon Gregory returned. After he became friends with a crowd of LH kids and kept up with them on Facebook after he went home, senior Rachel Spears invited him to be her date to the LHHS senior prom. With all the kids encouraging him, he borrowed a tux and boarded a plane. The prom was held at the Frontiers of Flight museum at Love Field, then he got to experience waterskiing at a lake house afterparty in East Texas, a new experience for the lad. Surely he won the prom award for traveling the farthest to attend.
