One of the beautiful regular scenes any given Saturday at White Rock Lake is the rowing teams slicing through the water.  This Saturday, May 2, catch the White Rock Boathouse and Jesuit Crew’s 1st annual sprint-rowing event, the White Rock Sprint Championships. The 2000-meter sprint races begin at the Bathhouse Cultural Center at 9 a.m. and finish just off of Teepee Hill on the south west end of the lake. Teams from Austin, Tulsa and Dallas —which includes Bishop Lynch high school students — have entered and organizers are still looking for volunteers to help out at starting platforms. Volunteer shifts run 8 a.m.—6 p.m. To sign up or for more information contact Sue Ellen Chambers
