I just dropped by the new Food Mart/gas station at the corner of Northwest Highway and Ferndale where the Albertson’s quick stop used to be. I met the owner Danny — nice as heck with a pretty thick accent. He said they been open two days. He seemed pretty happy to see me —think I might have been one of the first customers. The store is a member of IBC, Independent Buyers’ Co-op, which I had never heard of until today, but here you can read more about the organization. The gas is .10 less than at the Shell across the way and about the same as the Exxon (kitty corner). The Mountain Dew is cold but they didn’t have any sugar-free Red Bull in stock, though I’m probably the only one who cares about that.
