Lake Highlands’ Lorna Brooks is organizing a clothing drive for the family of Peter Courcy, the Frisco soldier who was killed in Afghanistan earlier this month.
Lorna and Courcy’s father, Chris Bush, were second grade classmates at Wallace Elementary and continued their friendship beyond graduation from Lake Highlands High. The clothes are for Courcy’s five-month-old son, Anthony, in sizes 9 months and up.
“Individually, I can do a little,” Lorna says, “but collectively we can do a lot.” The family will need help for months and years to come, Lorna told me, and she wants her friend Chris to be able to show his grandson that the community recognizes the sacrifice Peter made. In addition to clothing, Target or Walmart gift cards or cash donations can be given by emailing Lorna to get an address for drop off.
