By the time I finish writing this post, there will be about five days, one hour, and six minutes until the White Rock Marathon. I’m not that obsessed — there’s a countdown on the web site. But, who am I kidding? I am pretty obsessed with it. I wrote back in July here on Back Talk that I was gonna do this thing. Thanks to all the great peeps at the Dallas Running Club, I am actually going to run 26.2 miles next Sunday. Anyway, I’m not the only one preoccupied with this Sunday’s race. The Morning News has kicked off marathon week with a few good reads by special contributor Debbie Fetterman — one on Sunday about race technology details several of the high-tech devices — like a new timing chip and watches with GPS — that make life easier for runners, spectators and race organizers.
