This Friday, it all comes together for the 30th Lake Highlands Women’s League "Holiday in the Highlands" Home Tour and Holiday Market. Five houses (that’s Mollie Elliston in front of her home on Westview Circle in the picture) will be displayed this year, including an environmentally-friendly green home.
You’ll find ideas for decorating, enjoy family heirlooms passed down for generations, and see everyone you know in Lake Highlands touring along with you. Tickets ($10 in advance and $12 at the door) are available from Meg Henderson or 214-343-4115. If you’re lucky, she might be able to sell you a luncheon ticket too, though they are usually sold out by now.
You can also shop for Christmas goodies at the holiday market, located at Highland Oaks Church of Christ, Walnut Hill near Plano Road. The homes and the market open at 9:30 a.m. on Friday. Proceeds go to college scholarships for Lake Highlands seniors, community projects, and neighborhood schools.
