Congratulations to Lake Highlands’ own Nancy Newbold for winning the Family cookie category in The Morning News Holiday Cookie Contest. Nancy raised five daughters in the neighborhood, and has quietly led everything from the Highlandette Booster Club to the PTA.
As a former president of the Chi Omega Mothers Club, she’s known for bringing new recipes to the moms’ booth at Chi Omega Christmas, though none as elaborate as this winning entry – Grandma Newbold’s Favorite Filled Cookies. Nancy says she used the prize, a $150 gift card to Central Market, to fill a cart with kitchen gadgets to help her prepare for next year’s contest.
