After a season of recognizing the elite on our athletic teams, it’s a joy to shine the same bright light on our choir standouts. Lake Highlands has three students, all juniors, who will compete Jan. 10 for a spot on the Texas Music Educator’s Association All State Choir.
Carmen Burroughs, Timothy Davis, and Colman Vigil will travel to Plano Senior High, where they will face students from four regions and sing two prepared pieces and sight-read a difficult 8-measure melodic line. They began learning the music and practicing months ago at a choir summer camp in hopes of making this final round. If successful, they will perform in San Antonio in February as part of the All State Mixed, Treble, or Men’s Choir. Best of luck to all three.
