• Lots of grocery store news in the past couple of days. Whole Foods says it will cut spending, eliminate its dividend, and reduce new store openings, while Minyard sold more than half its stores to the parent company of Fiesta, including the Carnival at Skillman and Abrams. Neither chain was eyeing the Town Center, but those moves could affect what other companies do. Will a Whole Foods competitor like Sunflower or Sprouts, which have been linked with the Town Center, slip in while Whole Foods is preoccupied? And if the new Carnival owner decides to renovate and upgrade the Abrams store, will that affect what a possible Town Center grocery tenant will do?
