Last night I watched the U.S. Olympic trials where sprinter Tyson Gay — if you blinked you would have missed him — ran the fastest ever 100 meter race. It would have been a World Record, but it didn’t count because of strong winds. Lot of people watched it and many are talking about it — but what more of us in Lake Highlands might be talking about is the guy who came in third — Darvis Patton. The Lake Highlands grad qualified for team USA with an impressive time of 9.84 seconds — this will be his second trip to the Olympic Games.
