Coach Hanes Brindley announced several awards at last night’s Lake Highlands High School men’s soccer team banquet. Mark Miller, CH Farmer, Chris Nieto, Alex DeCosta, Tucker Short, and Stephen Holick were named to the 9-5A All-District first team. Ross Green, Zach Garcia, and Hunter Fugate were named second team. Honorable mention went to Brice Zaballa and Austin Forney. In addition, Chris Nieto was named District Sophomore of the Year and Tucker Short won Defensive MVP for the district. Very impressive for one of the toughest soccer districts in the entire state.

In school awards, which were voted on by the team, Tucker Short was Defensive Player of the Year, Chris Nieto was Offensive Player of the Year, and Alex DeCosta was voted Most Valuable Player. The LHHS Robbie Daniel Award and Scholarship, formerly known as the 110% Award until the death of winner Robbie Daniel his freshman year at Texas A&M, was presented by Robbie’s brother, Matt. Zach Garcia (also known as "Jack Attack" by his teammates and the cute girls who came to watch the games) was selected for this honor. Congratulations Cats.
