The Dallas Running Club is a great organization that not only inspires people to reach their athletic goals, but it also seems to serve as a network of support for people with shared interests. As a matter of fact, Libby, the organization president, has served as a great source of information for several pieces I’ve written about White Rock-area running and related events. I was checking out the DRC web site Friday — and I was saddened to read about two deaths of Dallas Running Club members. Past club president Glen Carter, 61, passed away April 11. There will be a life celebration for Glen April 26 at Maggiano’s Willow Bend in Plano.

Also on April 11, running club member Arshad Ahmed, just 31-years-old, (I believe he was a Lakewood resident), was killed in a car accident. I didn’t know these men, but as integral as DRC is to the White Rock community, I am sure some of you do know them. Here, you can read more about their lives and how they will be remembered.
