Lake Highlands High School finally beat out Highland Park High School, and currently tops the list of area schools receiving funds from shoppers using their Target Visa credit cards at Skillman and Abrams’ Super Target.

The retailer’s Take Charge of Education program allows cardholders to donate 1 percent of all purchases to the school of their choice. Not too long ago, Highland Park High School led the pack of recipients, but has now dropped to third. The signage in Target checkout lines must have caused Lake Highlands parents to fume that a school outside our neighborhood was getting the bulk of Super Target’s donation dollars. Turns out 221 LHHS supporters are designating their funds, versus 119 Highland Park supporters.
