For those of you who are fans of independent, art and documentary films, the ever-growing AFI Dallas International Film Festival is just around the corner. The festival, which runs March 27- April 6, will have films showing at multiple venues around town and it’s very convenient to plan all your movie-going in advance via this page on their site. Additionally, voucher locations, where you can pick up a pass to see a single film for free, can be found here.
This year, the AFI DALLAS Star Award, which is presented annually by AFI Dallas to a group of film artists in recognition of their unique contributions to cinema, will be given to Helen Hunt, Jack Lemon, Mickey Rooney, Todd Wagner and Charlize Theron. Plus, Robert DeNiro will be making an appearance in support of his new film What Just Happened?.
The AFI Dallas International Film Festival really started to blow big as a civic-boosting event in Dallas last year, so if you see something interesting then buy your tickets now!
