There are no leaves left on the trees. The lawn is in hibernation. The garden has long since shriveled up. Even the Christmas tree is gone (or should be, anyway). So perhaps you’re feeling the need to attend to something green now that our North Texas winter is upon us? Tucked away in a cheerful little yellow house on Greenville is a place called Sunshine Miniature Trees. Though the nursery has been there for 35 years, it’s easy to drive right by it. With more than 6,000 square feet of space, there are many bonsais to choose from, with names such as Bonsai Snow Rose and Japanese Mountain Azalea. Beware, though, they are strangely delicate for such a hardy-looking plant and require much care. In other words, don’t adopt one if you’re not ready to love it. Bonsais range in price from around $25-$500, depending on the type and age of the tree (some live to more than 100 years old). 7118 Greenville . Call 214-691-0127 or visit www.sunshinebonsai.com.
