Please don’t abandon me this summer. I need your ideas. All of us are very busy this time of year. Vacation travel, carpooling kids between sports camps, friend’s houses and the mall, and trying to keep focused on business makes summer the most hectic time of the year.

But don’t forget to let the Advocate know about LHHS graduate activities.

There is plenty of news to spread about your classmates this month, though.

Jill Curtis, ’93 graduate, was married recently. She’ll be graduating in December from the University of Oklahoma with a degree in Journalism/Mass Communications.

Jill was one of the junior high students in a Sunday school class I taught – Jill was about the only one who didn’t terrorize the teacher.

And Theresa Buckner, ’87 graduate, will marry Austin Spencer July 12. They’ll be celebrating afterwards at an interesting reception site – the Dallas World Aquarium.

I’m sure everyone heard about the unfortunate accident where the DART train collided with a front end loader last month on the newly opened Illinois rail line in South Dallas.

Did anyone notice the front page picture in the Dallas Morning News? There was a good shot of Kent Mandernach, ’84, who was one of the Dallas Fire Paramedics responding at the accident scene.

Congratulations to ’90 graduate Justin Leonard, who won the Kemper Open golf tournament in Pontiac, Mich. The newspaper said first place paid $270,000.

Last year, Justin was listed as one of the most eligible bachelors in America by Cosmopolitan Magazine.
