May is a month packed with choir and band concerts, dance recitals, spring practices, final exams and the end of school. I’m exhausted!

Most 1975 graduates are facing the dreaded 40th birthday this year. Two special parties involving LHHS grads were held recently.

Congratulations to Kim Hester Anderson, ’75, a former cheerleader for LHHS. Her sister, Suzanne Hester Ralston and brother-in-law Bobby Ralston surprised her with a celebration attended by fellow ’75 grads Craig Jarrell, Bill Goad, Philip Gerber, Jeff Dulcie and others, There was another blow-out the same day for Brad McJunkin. Wishing him well from the Lake Highlands crowd were David Payne, Jeff Stucker and Bill Anderson.

Incidentally, if you run across Craig Jarrell, offer him your congratulations, too. Last December, Craig and Cindy Jo Peterson were married at Prestonwood Baptist Church, where they met during Sunday school class. Cindy is originally from Minneapolis, Minn., but is certainly happy to be living with Craig in Lake Highlands.

Carl Schultze, ’83, and Jeanne McDaniel, were married April 12. Best man was Carl’s brother, Mike, ’85. Serving as one of the groomsmen was Monte Irion, ’83. Monte and Karl had attended school together since fourth grade and were roommates in college.

And a few more notes on the subject of LHHS graduates working in education.

Elizabeth Ealy Kitay, ’77, was the 1997 teacher of the year for Lakeview Elementary School in Fort Bend County.
